Between perl 5.8 and 5.16 inclusive, perl cached the CV for DESTROY in overload magic for the stash. This was four times faster than the simple method lookup previously done each time an object needed to be destroyed. ... read more |

I've implemented a new mechanism for creating tables in POD, currently supporting 14 output formats, which I believe is significantly more than anyone else has achieved to date. |

Tony Cook has requested an extension of $20,000 for his Maintaining Perl 5 grant. This grant has been running successfully since July 2013. If this extension is grounded it would allow Tony to devote another 400 hours to the project. The funds for this extension would come from the Perl 5 Core Maintenance Fund.
