As you may remember, this year we changed the YAPC::NA bidding process up a bit. We "moved everything up a few months":http://news.perlfoundation.org/2008/03/yapcna_2009_call_for_venue.html and will make an announcement during the closing ceremonies at this year's YAPC::NA in Chicago as to where the 2009 YAPC::NA will be held. I for one welcome the earlier announcement. Good idea!
Would it help the next year's organizers to hear the decision more near the BEGINNING of this year's YAPC instead of the end? If the decision is already made, it may allow the gang from Columbus or Pittsburgh to hang out the YAPC BoF and such.
Either way, I view this as an improvement.
