Terrific! I'm anxious to see the other bids. My wife hopes Boston wins the bid. :-( That wasn't the support I was looking for. ;-)

This is my first time writing here (so I may need to be approved first). I wrote up the Boston bid this year, and I think it may be a tough decision deciding among the bids. Houston should compete well based in price.

We should do a study among the three cities to see which has the best competition among airline fares from various Perl hotspots in the US and Candada.

And to complete the set, I wrote the Philadelphia bid this year.

I hope no one will be too put out, but I will need to add another paragraph to the proposal early next week. That is when the office that deals with the internet on campus is going to get back to me. But they do have a wireless network on campus so it should not be that big a deal.

The bigger question is will our bold move to hold YAPC the three days before Independence Day work for us? Is there really any better way to celebrate than to go back to the source? It worked for Munich when they held YAPC::Europe 2002 in the days leading up to Oktoberfest. The Sunoco Welcome America festival provides fireworks and other fun for the whole family.
