# Come to the Perl and Raku Conference in Houston!
We can't wait to see everyone IN PERSON at the Perl and Raku Conference June 21-25, 2022!
You can expect to see a lot of presentations on Perl, Raku, and supporting languages. Core presentation topics in the past have included Perl 5 and Raku, and organizers are hopeful to continue with a core of Perl 5 and Raku moving forward. It's worth noting that volunteers run this event, and talks are also given by volunteers. The presentations at the conference have been submitted during our Call For Presenters (CFP) and selected by organizers who volunteer to be on our talks committee. Generally, there are 2 to 3 simultaneous presentations (20-50 minutes long) on various topics throughout each main event day. We offer full masterclass tutorial sessions for an additional fee before and after the conference.
If you see #TPRCHouston around on social media, that's our tag for The Perl and Raku Conference in Houston.
# Plan Your Stay
**Where:** The Hilton Houston North, 12400 Greenspoint Dr, Houston, TX 77060.
**Register:** for the conference by going to https://tprc.us/tickets
**Stay:** Part of the conference is paid for by room reservations. We have negotiated discount rates through the hotel: https://tprc.us/hotel.

# Talks Accepted!
Many great speakers have already stepped forward to speak at the conference. As speakers accept their talks, we are posting their talks on the schedule (times and days yet to be confirmed) https://tprc.us/schedule/.
# Call for Presenters extended.
We still have room for more speakers. We have extended submissions to May 01, 2022, 18:00 UTC. You can submit your talk at https://tprc.us/speakers.
Whether this is your first time submitting a talk proposal or one of many you've proposed and presented, consider submitting your talk idea to us. Making a presentation at a national event is great for networking and experience!
Organizers who volunteer to be on our Talks Committee select the presentations at the conference. Generally, 3 to 4 simultaneous presentations (20 or 50 minutes long, including Q&A) on various technical topics throughout each main event day.
Not sure you are up for giving a talk but have a topic you'd like to learn more about at our event? Tweet [@PerlConferences](https://twitter.com/PerlConferences) using #TPRCHouston or email [admin@perlconference.us](mailto:admin@perlconference.us).
# Health and Safety
The safety of our attendees is a top priority for us. We've been away for three years. As we return to in-person conferences, we want to ensure everyone is safe. Houston has moved to [Level 2](https://covid-harriscounty.hub.arcgis.com/). We hope it will be at level 3 before the conference.
For your safety and the safety of other attendees, all speakers and attendees should be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Masking policies may change to match county standards. [Visit our website](https://tprc.us/covid/) for more information.
# Be part of it all - Organizer spots open!
Planning for The Perl Conference in Houston is underway, and we need a few more hands! It's not too late to join us in planning this event! Openings are web design/content editor, speaking coordinator, outreach assistant, and more. Email [admin@perlconference.us](mailto:admin@perlconference.us) to volunteer. You can help frame the conference!
# Call for Sponsors!
A donation to The Perl Foundation contributes to the Perl Conference in Houston and aids our other outreach programs. Perl Foundation Sponsors will get recognition for supporting The Perl Conference and our regional Perl Workshops, beginner training initiatives, and grants programs for an entire year. Donating directly to The Perl Foundation provides the most value for your sponsorship money.
However, sponsors can also donate directly to The Perl Conference. Often the organizers can link a sponsor directly to an event at the conference (wifi, coffee break, etc.) where the cost of the event is in line with the donation amount.
We will provide sponsors of $500 or more a table at our sponsor expo and job fair.
