Jonathan Worthington's "recent grant application":http://news.perlfoundation.org/2016/02/grant-proposal-perl-6-performa.html, through the "Perl 6 Core Development Fund":http://www.perlfoundation.org/perl_6_core_development_fund, has been successful. This grant will allow Jonathan to dedicate 200 hours to improve both runtime and compiler performance of Rakudo Perl 6.
I would like to thank all the community members who took time to comment on this grant request and our sponsors who made funding the grant possible.
