Our fantastic foundation administrator Nic Evans has secured a regular slot in Linux Format magazine (https://www.linuxformat.com/) where she is publishing Perl and Raku content as well as information on the Foundation.
This magazine was selected as it talks to the general Linux user and has good coverage outside our existing audiences. We are also exploring other magazines with specific themes.
The March 2022 edition includes a four-page article titled *Perl at 34* - an overview of Perl and summary of Raku.
For future editions, I would like to highlight some of the key Perl and Raku applications that new and existing users can pick up and use, such as LemonLDAP, Sympa, Mojo and Catalyst.
If you are not sure what to write, you could include:
- what the application is used for (what is the benefit to the user)
- where to find it / quick install
- background including the team and brief history
- key features and standards
- what is special or how it is differentiated from other similar applications
- what support or contribution is welcomed / sought
- how to collaborate and engage
Please ask around, and share your suggestions of active, well presented and well documented Perl and Raku applications to Nic Evans, email nic@perlfoundation.org. Nic is keeping a record of all articles submitted and will then connect you with the team at Linux Format for consideration in future publications.
Linux Format is available in UK news agents, Barnes & Noble in the US, as well as on line.
