This month I finished off documenting the regex engine's super-linear
cache, then turned my attention to improving and modernising the cache
code now that I better understood the underlying principles.
In particular, the cache is now per-quantifier (so is more targeted,
possibly kicking in quicker and using less memory) and non-regular things
like /(??{...})/ are handled better.
