Dave Mitchell has requested an extension of $20,000 for his "Maintaining the Perl 5 Core":http://news.perlfoundation.org/2013/09/grant-application-maintaining-1.html grant. This will allow him to dedicate another 400 hours to this work. During this grant he sent weekly reports to the p5p mailing list as well as providing monthly summary reports that have been published on this blog, the most recent of which are linked below:
"Report for Month 22":http://news.perlfoundation.org/2015/09/maintaining-the-perl-5-core-re-19.html
"Report for Month 23":http://news.perlfoundation.org/2015/09/maintaining-the-perl-5-core-re-20.html
"Report for Month 24":http://news.perlfoundation.org/2015/11/maintaining-the-perl-5-core-re-21.html
Before we make a decision on this extension we would like to have a period of community consultation that will last for one week. Please leave feedback in the comments or if you prefer send email with your comments to karen at perlfoundation.org.
If successful this extension will be funded from the "Perl 5 Core Maintenance Fund":http://www.perlfoundation.org/perl_5_core_maintenance_fund.

Yes please, Dave Mitchell is doing great work.
I hope this will be approved. Dave has done some really exciting optimization work this past year, and I'm looking forward to more of it, especially the work on signature-calling optimizations that has been in the wings.
Dave's work in the core has been great and I would like to see this grant extended.
Yes, please!
Dave's work on the core is of superlative quality, and enormous value to Perl 5's users. I would be delighted to see the Perl 5 Core Maintenance Fund continue to support it.
I strongly support this renewal
