Following [nomination in September 2019](https://news.perlfoundation.org/post/pete_krawczyk_nominated_for_tp) The Perl Foundation is pleased to welcome Pete Krawczyk as our new treasurer, being officially appointed 1st January 2020.
Pete is a US-based software developer working for ZipRecruiter and has been programming in Perl for 23 years.
Pete understands how valuable the community is to Perl. He says: “People, modules, features all come and go, but the community - and the values we've developed - sustain us through the worst of times and drive us in the best of times. I think the best use of TPF is to encourage this community and do whatever possible to help it grow.”
As we see a new treasurer take the reins it is great opportunity to review processes. The Grants Committee will be reviewing processes for grants and sponsorship for both Perl and Raku and we look forward to updating you on these changes in due course.
We would like to thank Dan Wright for his commitment as treasurer for the last 10 years. The standard voluntary term is just 2 years so we are grateful for the time he has given to this role.
It is great to know that Dan will remain on the board and continue to support TPF. He holds a great deal of knowledge and experience, and we value his commitment going forward.
