YAPC::NA call for venue deadline tomorrow

I think the title says it all. August 1 is the deadline, so get your hosting bids polished up and submitted.

As discussed here previously, once the call for venue is officially closed (I'll post when it's official), I'll publish what we received as we are doing our internal voting. Also, as discussed last year, we'll be publishing more voting details this year so everything is completely transparent.

Good luck to everyone. So far, I think folks in Texas and Massachusetts are working on bids, if that helps with your travel plans. :-)

Update: Updated the title so now, I hope, it really does say it all. Thanks, cog. :)

Reminder: YAPC::NA Call for Venue Closing Soon

As spelled out in my original Call for Venue, August 1st is the closing date. At this year's YAPC::NA, the YAPC BOF drew some interested parties from Texas who were considering a bid. I also believe Boston.pm were going to re-submit, but I haven't heard anything from them recently.

Did you attend this year and have a blast? Can you keep YAPC::NA going? We need you to make it happen next year.

If you have any questions, post them below.

It's that time again! If you have an idea for doing some work for the Perl community and you think it's worthy of a grant, please send your grant entry to tpf-proposals@perl-foundation.org. Grant applications must be in by the last day of July and we will be awarding the grants at the beginning of September.

First, please read about how to submit a grant. Read that carefully as grants are often rejected if they don't meet the criteria. For example, if you want to submit improvements to a well-known project but there's no evidence that you have at least tried to work with the maintainers of that project, the grant will likely not be approved. You can also read through our rules of operation for a better idea of thee grant process.
